MDC is also draping giant American flags on campus buildings on the same dates
Miami, August 18, 2022 – Miami Dade College (MDC) will illuminate its National Historic Landmark Freedom Tower blue in memory of Miami-Dade Police Department Detective Cesar Echaverry, who died in the line of duty earlier this week. The Freedom Tower will be illuminated at sunset on Friday, August 19, through Friday, August 26.
In addition, American flags will be draped over Buildings 8000 and 9000 at MDC North Campus, which house the College’s School of Justice, and at the Meek Center, just blocks from where Detective Echaverry was wounded. Echaverry was an MDC alumnus.
