MDC’s Center for Economic Education Kicks-Off Teacher Workshop Program

Miami, Oct. 12, 2018 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Center for Economic Education at the InterAmerican Campus will kick-off its 2018 – 2019 Teacher Workshop Program at Kendall Campus on Friday, Oct. 26.

Accounting Professor Elisa Fernandez will lead the free workshop, Teaching Financial Literacy, for local middle and high school teachers using Florida subject standards. Miami-Dade County Public School teachers will receive seven Master Plan Points by attending the all-day workshop.

“We have enhanced our offerings this year with additional incentives to attend while establishing new partnerships in the community,” says Professor Ana Corrales, Center Director and Accounting Professor.

Future workshops include collaborations with the US Securities & Exchange Commission, Next Gen Personal Finance, Branches, HistoryMiami, Wells Fargo, The Beacon Council, the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta – Miami Branch, and Florida Atlantic University,

The MDC Center for Economic Education (CEE) is a local affiliate of the Florida Council on Economic Education and the National Council for Economic Education. The Center provides professional development opportunities for K-12 teachers of economics, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.
