MDC’s BIT Center to Offer Free Google Project Management Certificate

Miami, Dec. 8, 2021 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Business Innovation & Technology (BIT) Center is launching the Google Project Management Certificate in collaboration with Google.org, the company’s philanthropic arm, to offer training at no cost to individuals 18 and older interested in acquiring Project Management skills. No degree or prior experience is required. Upon completion, participants will receive the Google Project Management Professional Certificate. Space is limited to 25 spots, the deadline to apply is Dec. 23, 2021.

The 16-week program, scheduled to begin in January 2022, prepares students to start or advance their careers in Project Management. The program is tailored for those aspiring or already in management positions looking to improve their planning, organizing and running project skills, estimating time and budgets, managing stakeholders and identifying and managing risks.

“This strategic collaboration with Google will enable us to equip our students with the essentials skills needed to launch their career in project management and increase opportunities to train and employ talent locally,” said Enrique Infanzon, Dean of MDC’s School of Continuing Education and Professional Development.

The Google Career Certificate program is part of Grow with Google, the company’s initiative to help ensure that the opportunities created by technology are available to everyone. The program equips learners with skills for in-demand jobs within three to six months and includes an employer consortium of over 150 companies that considers program graduates for entry-level roles.

“The Google Project Management Certificate is a great choice for anyone that wants to start a career in project management,” said Chechu Lasheras, Director of the BIT Center. “Students will get job-ready skills and a good foundation of the project management lifecycle”
