MDC’s 39th Miami Book Fair Announces Evening Author Events

Miami, Oct. 19, 2022 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Miami Book Fair, Nov. 13 – 20, will once again host top authors, including music, theater, and sports celebrities. This year’s evening author events include comedian Kevin Nealon; actor and playwright Harvey Fierstein; journalist Charlayne Hunter-Gault; football coach Jimmy Johnson; musician Patti Smith; rapper and producer Jose “Fat Joe” Cartagena; and Pulitzer Prize-winning physician Siddhartha Mukherjee, among others.

Each evening author event ticket includes a free pass to the weekend Street Fair, Nov. 18-20, where attendees can enjoy literary events, live music, children’s activities, hundreds of booksellers, local artisans, and a variety of food and refreshments.

An Evening with Kevin Nealon on I Exaggerate: My Brushes with Fame and Alan Zweibel, author of Laugh Lines: My Life Helping Funny People Be Funnier: A Conversation.  Includes a copy of I Exaggerate: My Brushes with Fame. Sunday, Nov. 13, 7 p.m.| Auditorium, Building 1, Second Floor| Tickets: $31

A Conversation with John Waters on Liarmouth: A Feel-Bad Romance and Paul W. Morris, House of Speakeasy executive director.  Includes a copy of Liarmouth: A Feel-Bad Romance. Ticket holders may purchase one additional companion ticket ($15) that will not include a book.

**Opening Day Sunday, Nov. 13, will also feature the opening of Lost Chapter drinks, bites and vinyl dee-jays from Dante’s Hi-Fi, 4:30 p.m. – 10 p.m., on the rooftop deck (Building 1, 4th floor).

An Evening with Michael Pollan on This Is Your Mind on Plants
