MDC North Campus to Host Miami Model United Nations Conferences

Miami, Feb. 19, 2016 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) North Campus, in collaboration with Foundations for Leadership and Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS), will host the Miami Model United Nations Conferences on Saturday, Feb. 20 and 27.

The Miami Model UN Conferences is designed for middle and high school students to engage in an exploration of current world issues through interactive simulations. Students will have the opportunity to debate a range of issues on the UN agenda including democratic governance, global literacy, as well as issues in Middle East, in particular. Several hundred students from schools throughout the county will participate in the respective day long conferences.

“Students will be presented with the rare opportunity to learn and apply leadership, negotiation, and presentation skills in simulations that mirror what takes place at the UN,” said North Campus President Dr. Malou C. Harrison.
