Miami, March 15, 2017 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) School of Entertainment & Design Technology will host its 3rd annual Digital Design Den (D3) Art + Design Conference & Expo, April 4-6, at MDC’s North Campus. The event focuses on the exploration of all aspects of traditional art, digital design, and technology.
With this year’s theme of Discover Your Craft, the conference kick-offs with a 6 p.m. opening night screening of Design Disruptors and a comprehensive outdoor exhibition hall. For two full days, students and the community will be treated to a host of creative sessions: interactive design, hands-on creative technology demonstrations, design challenges, networking & mentoring. The hands-on approach is aimed at highlighting and developing creative talent in the areas of commercial arts, motion design and visual effects.
D3 will again convene a diverse community of creative thinkers and designers whose work is rooted in these emergent creative industries. This conference is more than design tips; it is about developing and sustaining a collaborative design community for local design students and industry professionals. The conference also includes portfolio reviews, a college fair, and many other exciting aspects.
Highlighting the D3 conference space this year is Michael Jager, chief creative officer at Solidarity of Unbridled Labour, a company that produces creative branding concepts and design for entities such as Microsoft, Nike, MTV and others.
“Design defines everything,” said Michael Jager. “I’m excited to connect on curiosity and the trans-disciplined design-scape emerging.”
