MDC North Campus Presents Godspell Musical March 9 – 18

Miami, March 8, 2018 – Miami Dade College (MDC) North Campus’ Arts and Philosophy department presents Godspell, the iconic and inspiring musical by composer Stephen Schwartz, who is best known for his Broadway hit Wicked. The musical will run from March 9 – 18 at MDC’s North Campus. It is free and open to the public.

Inspired by the Gospel of Matthew, Godspell uses song, story and dance to spread Jesus Christ’s message of love, joy and community. The eclectic blend of songs range from pop to rock, including favorites “Day By Day”, “Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord” and “Bless the Lord.”

Godspell was conceived and originally directed by John-Michael Tebelak, with music and new lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, originally produced on the New York Stage by Edgar Lansbury, Stuart Duncan and Joseph Beruh. Godspell-2012 Revised Version is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).  All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI (www.MTIShows.com).

The MDC production of Godspell is directed by theater Professor Andy Quiroga with musical direction by Professor Carol Ann Steele and choreography by Professor Ruth Felix. The talented cast consists of music and theatre students from the North Campus Arts program.
