Miami, Nov. 7, 2022 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Lady Sharks volleyball team competed at the FCSAA State/District tournament this past weekend, defeating Spartan Methodist College on Sunday 3-0. The Lady Sharks finished second in the state and earned a spot to compete at the NJCAA National Tournament in West Plains, MO. Nov 17-19. The team has 48 state championship wins and 11 national titles.
MDC’s Department of Athletics prides itself in the sponsorship of academic development and the promotion of sports. MDC teams have earned a total of 36 NJCAA national titles, including 16 in women’s sports. Its student athletes have succeeded everywhere from the professional playing field to the board room. Many MDC sports alumni are members of the halls of fame in their respective collegiate and professional sports. Others are leaders in business and industry.
