Kitchen Stadium Heats Up MDC’s Miami Book Fair

MIAMI BOOK FAIR Nov. 13 – 20, 2016

Miami, Nov. 3, 2016 – Celebrity chefs and cookbook authors will share their philosophies and winning recipes at The Kitchen, a component of Miami Dade College’s (MDC) acclaimed Miami Book Fair, (MBF) the nation’s finest and largest literary gathering.

This year The Kitchen will feature a new, state-of-the-art Kitchen Stadium, which will be located on the southeast corner of N.E. Second Ave. and N.E. Third St. There will be cooking demos and culinary discussions to satisfy every taste bud and book lover. The Kitchen is sponsored by the Downtown Development Authority (DDA).

“Downtown Miami’s culinary scene continues to mature in lockstep with its urban rise and growing international appeal,” said Alyce Robertson, Miami DDA executive director. “The Kitchen at this year’s Miami Book Fair will be an opportunity for visitors to see – and taste – this dynamic evolution firsthand.”

11 a.m.             A discussion with Veronica Cervera, La Cocina Cubana de Vero and Yosmar Monique Martinez, Tastes of the Camino: 30 Authentic Recipes Along the French Way

12 p.m.             Cooking demo with Cynthia Graubart, Chicken: A Savor the South® cookbook

1 p.m.               A discussion with Ina Yalof, Food and the City: New York’s Professional Chefs, Restauranteurs, Line Cooks Street Vendors and Purveyors, Aleksandra Crapanzano, The London Cookbook: Recipes from the Restaurants, Cafes, and Hole-in-the-Wall Gems of a Modern City and Nancy Silverton, Mozza at Home: More Than 150 Crowd-Pleasing Recipes for Relaxed, Family-Style Entertaining

Miami Book Fair

Widely recognized as the largest and finest literary gathering in the U.S., the Miami Book Fair’s eight-day festival features readings and conversation with the world’s most renowned authors and more than 200 booksellers and exhibitors across various genres and interests. Book lovers are also treated to culinary presentations, live music, dance and theater performances, interactive art projects, fun and educational activities for children, and more! Miami Dade College
