Former Presidents, and heads of state will present a statement in support of Cuba Decide, a non-partisan, inclusive, citizens’ initiative that promotes a binding plebiscite on the island, at Miami Dade College’s (MDC) National Historic Landmark Freedom Tower on Thursday, May 12, at 6:45 p.m.
Former Prime Minister of Spain, Jose Maria Aznar, former Colombia President Álvaro Uribe, former Bolivia President Jorge Quiroga, former Chile President Sebastian Piñera, former Uruguay President Luis Alberto LaCalle, among others will present a briefing on Cuba’s current political situation and Cubans’ right to determine their own future. The Latin America Youth Network for Democracy presided by human rights activist Rosa Maria Payá and Cuba Decide promoters will attend the press conference.
The press conference will precede the Gala Dinner for Cuba Decide at MDC’s Freedom Tower. The Gala Dinner will be hosted by the Foundation for Pan-American Democracy and the Miami Herald.
