Enroll America and Community Organizations to Provide Health Insurance Enrollment Assistance to MDC Students and Community

Enrollment period begins November 1 thru January 31

Miami, Oct. 17, 2016- Enroll America and its Get Covered America campaign is offering students and area families the opportunity to receive one-on-one health plan enrollment assistance by appointment through a series of available office hours at several Miami Dade College (MDC) campuses.  The enrollment assistance is free and available to the public.

Starting Nov. 1 and running through the open enrollment period which ends Jan. 31, 2017, in-person enrollment assistance will be available at North, Wolfson, Kendall, Homestead, InterAmerican, and Hialeah campuses.  Certified assisters from local community organizations including the Epilepsy Foundation and the Health Council of South Florida will be on site to help MDC students interested in understanding the application process and their options for low cost health insurance.   Those with existing insurance are welcome to see if there is a better plan to fit their needs and budget.

For more information about the Affordable Care Act (ACA), coverage options, and how to get covered, visit www.getcoveredamerica.org

MDC students and area residents are encouraged to make an appointment by calling the community organization number listed for the specific MDC campus location or by visiting the corresponding Enroll link.
