Confucius Institute at Miami Dade College to Host the Opening Ceremony of the 2014 Miami China Latin America Film/TV Festival June 1

Miami, May 29, 2014 – The Confucius Institute at Miami Dade College (MDC) will host the opening ceremony of the 2014 Miami China Latin America Film/TV Festival (MCLAFF) at 7 p.m., Sunday, June 1, at the Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami. Innovation Productions International (IPI) and Latin Chamber of Commerce of USA (CAMACOL) are co-hosts of the event, which is free and open to the public.

The opening ceremony will include the film screening of the 2013 Chinese feature film Silent Witness. Produced in China (in Chinese with English subtitle), it won the top prize at the British Megapixel International Chinese Film Festival.

A Chinese national film delegation that includes government officials and industry leaders and professionals will attend the ceremony.

The 2014 MCLAFF, collaborating with the 35th Hemispheric Congress of Latin Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the 4th Annual Miami Media and Film Market taking place June 2 – 4, will explore opportunities for cultural exchanges and developing collaboration between China, America, and Latin American countries in the film/TV, cultural and creative industries.
