MIAMI, June 13, 2022 – Miami Dade College (MDC) students and professionals who successfully complete Google’s Data Analytics Certificate are now eligible for 12 college credits toward a bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics from MDC. Additionally, MDC is embedding the Google Data Analytics Certificate into the bachelor courses.
“We are expanding our partnership with Grow with Google to provide students and the community new pathways to careers in data science, one of the fastest growing tech fields,” said MDC President Madeline Pumariega.
Google Data Analytics Certificate is offered through Coursera. The program includes over 180 hours of instruction and hundreds of practice-based assessments, which help students simulate real-world data analytics scenarios that are critical for success in the workplace. The content is highly interactive and exclusively developed by Google employees with decades of experience in data analytics. Through a mix of videos, assessments, and hands-on labs, students get introduced to analysis tools and platforms and key analytical skills required for an entry-level job.
Completers of the Google Data Analytics Certificate will be able to receive credits from the following courses after enrolling in the Bachelor of Science in Data Analytics program at MDC:
- CAP 1788 – Introduction to Data Analytics (4 credits)

“The way the data analysis lifecycle is presented and discussed makes this certificate a game changer for entry- and junior-level analysts seeking a career in data analytics”, said Norge Pena, lead faculty for data analytics at MDC. “The Google Data Analytics Certificate will give our students the possibility to acquire job-ready skills as they earn college credits towards our bachelor’s program.”
