Application Period for TheDream.US National Scholarships is Now Open

Miami, Nov. 17, 2016 – The fourth national application period for TheDream.US national scholarships, created specifically for DREAMer students, is now open until March 8, 2017.  Miami Dade College (MDC) is a founding college partner of TheDream.US with more than 100 MDC students being awarded scholarships since the establishment of this fund. The DREAM.US is the largest college access and success program for DREAMers.

To be eligible to apply for the national scholarship, students must be:

First time college students:

  • Be a first-time college student applying to an associate’s or bachelor’s degree program at MDC
  • Have a GPA of 2.5 or greater (or equivalent GED score)
  • Be eligible for DACA or TPS and have applied for or received DACA or TPS approval
  • Demonstrate significant unmet financial need

Community college graduates:

  • Earned an associate’s degree from an accredited community college by the end of the 2015-2016 academic year
  • Intend to enroll in and attend MDC in the fall of 2017 and be eligible for in-state tuition
  • Have a college GPA of 3.0 or greater on a 4.0 scale
  • Be eligible for DACA or TPS and received DACA or TPS approval
  • Demonstrate significant unmet financial need

TheDREAM.US covers up to $12,500 for an associate’s degree and $25,000 for a bachelor’s degree, assisting with tuition, fees, books, supplies and transportation.
