Recent news from MDC President Eduardo Padron:
MDC’s North Campus is hosting a Rally to Vote at noon tomorrow (Oct. 9), where students, faculty and staff can register to vote while they enjoy entertainment, giveaways and refreshments. This is a wonderful opportunity to ensure your registration is in order before the upcoming election, and to encourage others to engage in our nation’s democratic process.
The College has also created a one-stop election site, where you can register to vote using your phone (it takes about three minutes), print your personalized sample ballot and learn about why your vote matters.
In addition, each of our eight campuses will have voter registration stations set up today and tomorrow, ready to help new voters register and assist those looking to update their registration. Campuses will also host individual events to promote voter registration and create awareness about the key issues on the ballot in November.
During this election season, it is important that we reflect on the responsibility we all have as citizens to be active participants in our nation’s democratic process. Voting is our constitutional right, and it is vital for the progress of our great nation. See you at the polls!
