“Kick-Start Your Career” Helps People Get Back to Work with New SkillsStipends and scholarships available for new students to get job-ready skills through certificate programs

Get ready to re-enter the job market with a new set of skills to earn a competitive, sustainable wage. MDC has launched the Kick-Start Your Career program to aid those impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic start a new career. Designed for students not currently enrolled at MDC, the program will provide a stipend and scholarships on a first-come, first-served basis to cover tuition, materials, and fees.

MDC’s Kick-Start program offers College Credit Certificates in Graphic Design Support, Help Desk Support Technician, Business Intelligence Professional, Network Security, Homeland Security, Emergency Medical Technician, Digital Marketing, Accounting Clerk, Start-Up Venture, Human Resources, Audio Technology, Enterprise Cloud Computing, and Pre-School Studies.

The selected certificate programs are being offered online during the 2020 summer and fall terms. Each course has a maximum enrollment capacity of 25. Students will receive an institutional certificate upon completion, which is added to their transcripts and credits earned can be applied towards a related Associate in Science degrees.

Those who enroll in Kick-Start programs will also have access to MDC WORKS, the college’s groundbreaking career studio, including coaches, mentors, and access to 2,000 jobs and internships.

The Kick-Start program is a component of MDC Cares, a comprehensive program with various opportunities to help students and the community affected by the pandemic reach their academic and career goals.
