As you know, we will remain in Phase 2 of our Pandemic Outbreak Recovery Plan which means that the class instruction modes available to students will be Blended, Remote Learning, MDC Online and a select number of In Person classes that are not suited for remote delivery.
President Montoya and I have made a decision to remain in Phase 2 of our Pandemic Outbreak Recovery Plan through the rest of the fall semester until the end of the spring 2021 term.
I know that staying safe and healthy is on everyone’s mind and is of extreme importance to every single member of our College family. This fact continues to drive every decision that MDC’s leadership makes on behalf of our students, faculty, and staff. As a result, the College will remain under MDC’s current Phase 2 level of our pandemic recovery plan for the remainder of the Fall 2020 term and until the end of the Spring 2021 term.
Please know the safety and health of the College family remain our top priority. As we have mentioned in several messages, we are now moving toward an anticipated, phased return to campus on September 28 due to the improving COVID conditions, including a positivity rate of less than 10% over the last two weeks, and guidance from local and state officials.
We are a couple weeks away from the start of the fall term. I want to take this opportunity to share with everyone what MDC is doing to keep our students and employees safe on our campuses.
