New Trustee Roberto Alonso sworn in by Chief Judge Bertila Soto
Miami, July 21, 2020 – Today, the Miami Dade College (MDC) District Board of Trustees elected Michael Bileca as the new chairman and Carlos Migoya as vice chairman. In addition, the Board welcomed new Member Roberto Alonso, appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis to a four-year term.
Trustee Alonso is a proud MDC alumnus and graduate of Florida International University. He is vice president of business development at the real estate firm Costa Realtors Corp. Previously, he was director of partnerships and solution engineering at SchoolMint, a student enrollment software company. He also served as director of business development at Hero K12, which develops student behavior software for schools. Trustee Alonso is on the Miami-Dade County Planning Advisory Board. He founded the Miami Lakes Cars for a Cure Foundation in 2014 to raise money for cancer research.
