Blacks and the Long Road to Freedom
Panel discussion about how the road to freedom for the black community has been nothing short of an uphill journey of sacrifice, commitment, and unity. The fight for freedom has been a consistent moving of the needle for justice and equality in each generation. The arduous journey to freedom is full of sorrow and joy, defeat and triumph, from slavery to Jim Crow laws to civil rights to mass incarceration to police brutality. The resilience and determination to live free and embrace the true meaning of justice and liberty for all is the privilege of every American. Discussion to be facilitated by Nehemiah Gwaltney, Founder and CEO, For the One, LLC and Dr. Simeon Richardson, Associate Professor of English and Humanities at MDC Homestead Campus.
