Miami, Feb. 6, 2020 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) North Campus will present its 14th Annual Gospel Explosion & Soul Food Tasting on Saturday, Feb. 29, from 5:30 – 8 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
The popular Gospel Explosion will feature talented local choirs, solo singers and praise dancers from the tri-county area. Among this year’s featured artists is Miami’s very own Alvin L. Jackson, an MDC graduate and CEO of AdrianKori Music. Other performers include Corey Edwards of the Florida Fellowship Supper choir, and the Shewbread School of Worship Dancers.
“We look forward to our Gospel Explosion every year,” said Dr. Malou C. Harrison, President of the North and Padrón Campuses, “It’s always an uplifting gathering of our students, coupled with local talent and the vibrant South Florida community as we honor the richness of African-American traditions.”
Organized in support of black history and gospel tradition, this North Campus signature event brings together the community for evening of music, food, and artistic brilliance. In addition to the performances, the festival features arts and crafts vendors and a soul food tasting, courtesy of local restaurants and donors.
