MDC’s Jazz at Wolfson Series Presents Wolfson Jazz Ensembles Nov. 12

Miami, Oct. 23, 2019 – Miami Dade College (MDC) Wolfson Campus’ Arts and Philosophy Department continues its successful live jazz series, Jazz at Wolfson Presents, with the Wolfson Jazz Ensembles, directed by Dr. Michael Di Liddo, at 5:40 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 12. All Jazz at Wolfson Presents concerts are free and open to the public.

Two ensembles from the jazz program will be featured – the Horace Silver and Blue Note Jazz Combos. The Horace Silver group takes its name from the legendary pianist and composer of the 1950s and ’60s. The Blue Note group pays tribute to the famed jazz record label of numerous groundbreaking recordings.

“The students have studied a wide variety of traditional jazz styles and are anxious to share their newly acquired performance skills and growing passion for this great American art form,” said Dr. Michael Di Liddo. “The concert will include works by Horace Silver, Lee Morgan, Hank Mobley, Paul Desmond, Joe Henderson and Wayne Shorter.”

MDC’s Jazz at Wolfson Presents features monthly live performances from September through April. For a complete list of Jazz at Wolfson Presents concerts, please visit http://www.mdc.edu/main/jazzatwolfsonpresents.
