Miami Dade College’s North Campus Actors Arena Presents Lady Windermere’s Fan

Miami, July 2, 2018Miami Dade College’s (MDC) North Campus Actors Arena will present Lady Windermere’s Fan by Oscar Wilde, for three consecutive weekends beginning, Friday, July 13, at North Campus’ Lehman Theater.  Directed by acclaimed actress and director Zully Montero, the Spanish-language play is free and open to the public

This theatrical piece is considered one of his most important pieces for its peculiar social and human message that has been featured in the cinema and theater many times with remarkable success.

Lady Windermere’s Fan will be dedicated to the great professional and renowned theater director Max Ferrá, who passed away last year.  He was, for more than a decade, the teacher and guide of students in Actors Arena.

Zully Montero, Actors Arena’s director, graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Havana, Cuba in 1959.  Since then she has had a long and successful career in film, theater and television.  Montero arrived in the United States in 1968, where she joined the prestigious INTAR Theater, The Spanish Repertory Theater, and the Cuban Cultural Center in New York City. In 1972, she collaborated and shared the stage with great actors and well-known directors such as Silvia Brito and our own Max Ferrá.   While in New York, she also spearheaded a two-year Theater Project by petition of the National Endowment of the Arts.  After several years, her career took her into television where she became a Telenovela star.  Montero has starred in dozens of Telenovelas, sitcoms and series while continuing to do theater in Miami. She starred as “Graciela”, in Cape Fear with Robert De Niro and “Lilia” in Casanova Was a Woman.
