MDC’s Miami Animation & Gaming International Complex Presents Former Director of Development for Disney TV Animation

Miami, Jan. 31, 2018 Miami Dade College’s (MDC) acclaimed Miami Animation and Gaming International Complex (MAGIC) will host former Director of Development for Disney TV Animation, Kimberly Dennison, as part of its new Art of Tech Lecture Series at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 14. This event is sponsored by Sprint.

Dennison is an experienced kids and family entertainment executive and consultant, who has developed and produced multiple projects for studios and networks. At Disney TV Animation, she developed both original and franchise series projects and successfully shepherded Big City Greens and the Big Hero 6 series to greenlight. Dennison has worked for the Walt Disney Company, the Hub Network and Rainmaker Entertainments. She has consulted on a wide range of projects in both the feature and series spaces and has served as a network executive on recognizable properties, such as Transformers Prime, Littlest Pet Shop and Strawberry Shortcake’s Berry Bitty Adventures.

MAGIC’s The Art of Tech series empowers, elevates and inspires innovation within the growing digital technologies industry. The speaker series brings together a wide spectrum of executive level professionals in the areas of Computer Animation, Gaming, Visual Effects, Motion Graphics, Virtual and Augmented Reality.

Located at MDC’s Wolfson Campus, MAGIC offers an Associate in Science degree in Animation & Game Art or Game Development & Design, and Immersive Technologies Certificate program on virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). Students in the intensive, hands-on two-year program develop skills in modeling, lighting, motion, sound, and storytelling, as well as gain command of the technical skills required in today’s highly competitive animation industry.
