MDC Professor to Attempt to Reclaim Guinness World Record for Mental Calendar Calculations

Miami, Jan. 25, 2018–  Yusnier Viera, a mathematics professor at Miami Dade College (MDC), will attempt to reclaim the Guinness World Record for mental calendar calculations on Saturday, Jan. 27, 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., at the Hialeah Campus.

Viera will attempt to reclaim the Guinness World Record he set in 2015, where he correctly calculated in one minute, the day of a given date in the years between 1600 to 2100.  Viera correctly calculated 111 dates in one minute thus setting the world record in 2015. In 2016, his record was broken by Jay Baldiya Jain, a 12-year-old boy in India, who correctly calculated 125 dates to become the current record holder.
