Miami Dade College Celebrates Democracy During National Voter Registration Day Sept. 26

Miami, Sept. 25, 2017- Miami Dade College (MDC) will celebrate democracy by promoting voter registration on all eight campuses during National Voter Registration Day (NVRD) on Tuesday, Sept. 26.

Millions of Americans every year find themselves unable to vote because they haven’t updated their registration, aren’t sure how to register, or miss a registration deadline. Established in 2012, NVRD is a national holiday held yearly on the fourth Tuesday of September.  It is a day of civic unity and an opportunity to set aside differences, and celebrate democracy as well as the rights and opportunities shared by all Americans. MDC has always supported this important day and registration activities year-round.

In recognition of MDC’s sustained commitment to non-partisan voter engagement, MDC earned the Voter Friendly Campus designation through Campus Vote Project and NASPA last year. In previous years, the college has also led new voter registration among all colleges and universities.

The last day to register to vote in the upcoming November elections is Oct. 10.
