MDC’s North Campus to Host Lecture on Organ Trafficking Feb. 15

Miami, Feb. 7, 2017Miami Dade College’s (MDC) North Campus, the Law Center, and the   Multidisciplinary Academic Learning Lounges (MALLs) will host Organ Trafficking: Turning a Blind Eye, presented by Dr. David Tushaus, J.D., at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15.

Tushaus will discuss the issue of illegal trafficking of human organs in the global market.  He will address the socio-economic and legal implications as well as the impact on recipients, who are mostly from developing nations.

He is a Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice, Legal Studies and Social Work at Missouri Western State University.  Tushaus is an attorney and advocate for global access to justice issues. He is the former Chairperson of the Department of Criminal Justice, Legal Studies, and Social Work at Missouri Western State University, and was a Fulbright-Nehru scholar to India. He has published and presented this work internationally at many institutions and conferences in India, Nepal, Turkey and the United States.
