MDC Students Earn Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarships

Thirteen MDC Students Recognized for Academic Excellence and Leadership Potential

MIAMI, Oct. 1, 2026 — Thirteen Miami Dade College (MDC) students from MDC’s Honors College have been selected as recipients of the 2026 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarship, a prestigious national scholarship sponsored by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation that recognizes outstanding members of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the international honor society for students at associate degree-granting colleges.

The Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarship provides recipients with a $1,000 award to help defray educational expenses while enrolled in associate degree programs. Scholars are encouraged to assume leadership roles by participating in Society programs and are selected based on scholastic achievement, community service, and leadership potential.

 MDC students have consistently earned the highly competitive scholarship in recent years, reflecting the College’s strong tradition of academic achievement, leadership and student success.

Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholars are selected by a panel of independent judges based on academic excellence and demonstrated leadership potential. The scholarship program was launched in 2001 to assist new PTK members in obtaining an associate degree and to encourage their participation in PTK programs.
