Save the Date! Miami Dade College to Host Cátedra Mezerhane, a Candid Conversation with Leaders and Former Heads of State on Democracy and Human Rights in Latin America

Miami, Sept. 7, 2016 – Miami Dade College, (MDC) in partnership with Iniciativa Democrática de España y las Américas (IDEA), Instituto Atlántico de Gobierno, and Diario Las Américas, will host Cátedra Mezerhane regarding the state of democracy and human rights in the Americas on Friday, Oct. 21.  The event will be in Spanish.

Former Prime Minister of Spain Jose Maria Aznar, former Costa Rican President Laura Chinchilla, former Colombian President Ándres Pastrana,  former Bolivian President Jorge Quiroga, former Uruguayan President Luis Alberto LaCalle, Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OEA) Luis Almagro,   MDC’s President Dr. Eduardo J. Padrón, Diario Las Americas’ editor, Nelson J. Mezerhane, and IDEA’s executive director Asdrúbal Aguiar are among the world and community leaders who will convene at MDC to discuss the current political and economic situation in Venezuela and Nicaragua.
