MDC to Host Exclusive Pre-Screening and Community Discussion of AMERIGO: The Search for the American Dream

Students can contribute their testimonies for the show’s promotional campaign

Miami, Fla., April 13, 2026 – Miami Dade College (MDC) West Campus will host an exclusive preview screening and panel discussion of AMERIGO — a powerful two-part documentary series produced exclusively for PBS stations and American Public Television, that captures resilience, creativity, and the enduring spirit of America.  This event is free and open to the public but space is limited. The screening will he held on Wednesday, April 15, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., followed by a panel discussion moderated by TV show host and journalist Olga Villaverde.  Panelists include:

Part of the commemoration of the United States’ 250th anniversary, AMERIGO explores the evolving meaning of the American Dream through the voices of everyday Americans. The filmmakers traveled to all 50 states, gathering personal stories that reflect the nation’s diversity, challenges and aspirations.

MDC students are invited to participate in the project by submitting a short video responding to the questions: What does the American Dream mean to you today? What gives you hope for the future?
