MDC to Host 50th Florida Caribbean Students Association Student Leadership Development Conference

Miami, Feb. 19, 2026 – Miami Dade College (MDC) will host the 50th Florida Caribbean Students Association (FCSA) Student Leadership Development Conference from Thursday, March 19, to Sunday, March 22, 2026, at its North Campus.

Marking a milestone in the organization’s 34-year history, the conference will welcome delegates from more than 30 institutions for a four-day program featuring civic engagement initiatives, leadership workshops, cultural showcases, alumni and business engagement opportunities and an anniversary gala celebrating decades of student leadership.

MDC was selected as this year’s host after a competitive proposal process among colleges and universities across Florida, recognizing its strong commitment to student leadership, civic engagement, and collaborative planning with the Caribbean Students Association and its academic and student affairs divisions. The College hosted the conference’s 40th edition in 2014.

Founded in 1991, the FCSA brings together Caribbean student organizations across the state and advances leadership development, community service, cultural programming and advocacy. Caribbean heritage is strongly reflected at MDC, with students, faculty, and staff whose roots trace to Bahamas, Barbados, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, and other nations and territories, including Puerto Rico.

As planning for the event continues, MDC and the association are seeking sponsors, partners and speakers to support conference programming and connect with student leaders. Organizations, businesses and interested speakers are encouraged to contact Miguel Murphy at mmurphy3@mdc.edu or call 305-237-7740.

Additional details on programming, keynote speakers and participation opportunities will be announced through official MDC and FCSA channels in the coming days.
