Miami Dade College Signs MOU with Miami-Dade County Clerk of the Court and Comptroller

Miami, Nov. 10, 2025 – Miami Dade College (MDC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Miami-Dade County Clerk of the Court and Comptroller to create paid internships for MDC students, providing real-world experience in the area of government administration. The agreement was signed during a ceremony held at MDC’s Wolfson Campus on Thursday, October 30 with MDC President Madeline Pumariega, MDC Executive Vice-President & Provost, Dr. Malou Harrison and  Juan Fernandez-Barquin, Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller for Miami-Dade County in attendance.

Through this partnership, students will be matched with projects that align with their academic pursuits and career goals while contributing to essential functions. Upon completion, they will have the opportunity to apply for full-time employment.

The Clerk of the Court and Comptroller’s Office manages the largest and highest volume of court filings and official records in the State of Florida and the fourth largest judicial circuit in America. The Miami-Dade Clerk of the Court and Comptroller is the custodian of essential local Public Records, including Courts, Home & Property, Board of County Commission, Marriage License and Value Adjustment Board, among others.
