Miami Dade College Named a “2025 Great College to Work For”

Miami, Sept. 19, 2025 – Miami Dade College (MDC) has been named once again among the nation’s Great Colleges to Work For® by ModernThink, LLC. In addition, MDC made the Honor Roll, a special distinction awarded to the top 10 four-year colleges and top 4 two-year colleges recognized in all categories. The results were announced at GreatCollegesList.com and via a special insert of The Chronicle of Higher Education available digitally and in print.

“It is an honor to be recognized and earn Honor Roll status once again by the Great Colleges to Work For program, highlighting our longstanding commitment to fostering a culture of care and cultivating a positive and inspiring work environment for all,” said Miami Dade College President Madeline Pumariega.

MDC was recognized in the following categories: Job Satisfaction & Support; Compensation & Benefits; Professional Development; Mission & Pride; Supervisor/Department Chair Effectiveness; Confidence in Senior Leadership; Faculty & Staff Well-being; Shared Governance; Faculty Experience; and Inclusion, Belonging & Community.

This year’s results are based on a survey of 199 colleges and universities. In all, 76 of those institutions achieved “Great College to Work For” recognition for specific best practices and policies. Results are reported for small, medium, and large institutions, with MDC included among the large universities with 10,000 or more students.

The survey results are based on a two-part assessment process: an institution questionnaire that captures employment data and workplace policies from each institution, and a survey administered to faculty, administrators, and professional support staff. The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition was the employee feedback.

The Great Colleges to Work For® program is one of the largest and most respected workplace-recognition programs in the country.
