Miami, June 2, 2025 — Miami Dade College’s (MDC) School of Education, in partnership with the South Florida Educational Consortium, will host the Educator Empowerment Summit on Monday, June 9, starting at 8:30 a.m. at MDC North Campus. MDC President Madeline Pumariega and Miami-Dade County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Jose L. Dotres will deliver welcome remarks. This invitation-only event is open to working media.
The one-day event will bring together educators, leaders and changemakers from across South Florida to ignite innovation, elevate professional practice and strengthen the future of the teaching profession through a series of keynote speakers, dynamic panels and interactive breakout sessions.
Highlights include:
- Keynote Address by Clint Pulver – Renowned motivational speaker and author of “I Love It Here,” Pulver will energize educators with insights on building school culture through mentorship and connection.
- Panel Discussion – Educators and leaders will explore the transformative impact of MDC’s new Teacher Apprenticeship Baccalaureate Program.
- Breakout Sessions – Ten targeted workshops will dive deep into critical themes including AI in education, workforce design, mentorship, teacher pipelines and apprenticeship success stories.
- Special Focus – “TEACH Miami,” a Grow Your Own teacher apprenticeship program developed through the Augustus F. Hawkins Centers of Excellence Grant, will be showcased in a dedicated session for high school principals.
