Miami Dade College Presents IX Presidential Dialogue with Focus on Venezuela Oct. 17

Miami, Oct. 11, 2024 – Miami Dade College (MDC) will co-host the IX Presidential Dialogue, organized by IDEA Group, Catedra Mezerhane and Instituto Atlántico de Gobierno on Thursday, Oct. 17. The global forum will feature a delegation of current and former heads of state from Latin America and Spain who will delve into geopolitical, economic and social challenges facing the Western Hemisphere under the theme “Democracy, Citizenship, and Migration: Venezuela” The program will be in Spanish with English interpretation available.

“As Democracy’s College, we are honored to host this group of distinguished world leaders discussing the impact of recent political, economic and social challenges, especially in Venezuela,” said MDC President Madeline Pumariega. “This vital dialogue underscores our commitment to democratic principles and human rights, while also helping students understand complex issues shaping our world and enriching their experience outside the classroom.”

IX Presidential Dialogue will host two panel discussions on Thursday, Oct. 17, starting at 9:15 a.m. at MDC Wolfson Campus, 300 N.E. 2nd Ave., Building 1, second floor. MDC President Madeline Pumariega will deliver welcome remarks.
