MDC North Campus to Welcome 100 New U.S. Citizens at Naturalization Ceremony Sept. 17

Miami, Sept. 12, 2024 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) North Campus, in partnership with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will host a Naturalization Ceremony on Tuesday, Sept. 17. The event will welcome 100 new U.S. citizens during a special ceremony as part of Constitution and Citizenship Day, which marks the signing of the U.S. Constitution in 1787. USCIS District Director Brett Rinehart will deliver welcome remarks and administer the Oath of Allegiance. MDC Executive Vice President and Provost Dr. Malou C. Harrison will deliver the keynote speech. MDC’s School of Justice, Florida Basic Law Enforcement Academy Honor Guard will present the colors.

“The North Campus is excited to celebrate with these new citizens and their families,” said North Campus President Fermin Vazquez. “As an institution focused on the community, we truly embody the spirit of inclusivity by opening our doors to all.”

USCIS invites new U.S. citizens and their guests to share their naturalization photos on social media with the hashtag #NewUSCitizen.
