Miami, April 10, 2024 – In an ongoing effort to expand career opportunities for students, Miami Dade College (MDC) and Florida International University (FIU) announced several transfer articulation agreements to expand opportunities for students in tech and hospitality programs. The agreements were officially signed by MDC President Madeline Pumariega and FIU President Kenneth A. Jessell at a special ceremony to mark the 26th Annual FIU-MDC Day.
“This most recent collaboration with FIU creates unique and seamless pathways for our graduates in tech and hospitality programs to continue their studies locally,” said President Pumariega. “It is a testament to our longstanding partnership with FIU and underscores our overarching goal of developing the talent workforce of tomorrow.”
MDC-FIU Day celebrates and fosters collaboration and dialogue between MDC and FIU. Each year administrators, faculty and staff convene to share information and strengthen the relationship between the institutions.

Jessell. “Through our longstanding collaborations, we are ensuring that our graduates are equipped to lead and innovate in key industries, driving our community forward.”
Below are the transfer articulation agreements established:
- Students graduating from MDC with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology meeting select criteria to qualify for admission to FIU Master of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or Master of Science in Internet of Things.
- Students graduating from MDC with a Bachelor of Science in Data Analytics meeting select criteria qualify for admission into the Master of Science in Data Science & Artificial Intelligence at FIU.
- Students graduating from MDC with a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity meeting select criteria qualify for admission into the Master of Science in Cybersecurity at FIU.
- Students graduating from MDC with a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Technology meeting select criteria qualify for admission into the Master of Science in Information Technology at FIU.
- Students graduating from MDC with a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Technology meeting select criteria qualify for admission into the Master of Science in Telecommunications and Networking at FIU.
- Students graduating from MDC with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Supervision and Management – Hospitality Concentration meeting select criteria can transfer to FIU Master of Science in Hospitality Management.
