In a heartwarming celebration of commitment and accomplishment, the School of Education Pinning Ceremony at Miami Dade College recently focused on the exceptional dedication and achievements of 63 future educators. This event marked the culmination of their hard work as they finish their bachelor’s degree programs.

MDC’s School of Education has partnered with Miami-Dade County Public Schools to respond to a critical shortage of teachers in Miami-Dade County, the nation’s third-largest school system. Bachelor’s degree program students can participate in a residency program with a Miami-Dade Schools supervising teacher. The student then earns a salary while also satisfying their student teaching requirements. More than half of those celebrating their Pinning Ceremony took part in the residency program.
