Miami, March 30, 2023 – Nearly 50 Miami Dade College (MDC) students representing North, Kendall, Homestead, Padron and Wolfson campuses placed in the top five in several categories at the 2023 Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) State Leadership Conference this month. MDC garnered the highest number of awards at the event.
The winning students are members of MDC’s collegiate chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), the largest business Career and Technical Student Organization in the world. MDC’s chapter has an impressive track record with more than 100 awards at state and national competitions.
Phi Beta Lambda is a national organization devoted to developing competent leaders. It focuses on service, education and progress. Composed of more than 450 chapters, PBL operates as a liaison between instructors, state supervisors, school administrators and members of the business community. Membership in PBL is open to students of all majors. Their activities provide opportunities for students to establish occupational goals and facilitate the transition to professional life.
