Public Notice – Notice of Meeting and Re-Notice of Rulemaking – District Board of Trustees of Miami Dade College

As previously noticed, The District Board of Trustees of Miami Dade College will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, April 18, 2023. The Board of Trustees will consider at that time the amendments of the below Rules which were previously noticed for consideration on February 17, 2023.

RULE NO. RULE TITLE RULE SUMMARY LAWS IMPLEMENTED
I-13 Textbook and Course Material Affordability and Transparency The purpose of the amended rule is to expand current Rule language to implement substantial changes required by State Board of Educational Rule 6A-14.092, Florida Administrative Code and to establish the College’s mission to reduce student costs while maintaining excellence in student educational experience. VIII-30 Placement Testing The purpose of the amended rule is to expand current Rule language to implement substantial changes required by State Board of Education Rule 6A-10.0315, Florida Administrative Code and to establish methods for assessing communication and computation skills and the minimum standards a student must achieve to demonstrate readiness to perform college-level work. VIII-80 Graduation Requirements The purpose of the amended rule is to align with postsecondary instructional unit definitions and awards defined in the State Board of Educational Rule 6A-14.030, Florida Administrative Code, specifically related to the expanded options for degree certificates at approved degree level.
