Miami, August 30, 2022 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) National Historic Landmark Freedom Tower will be illuminated yellow at sunset on Saturday, Sept. 10, for World Suicide Prevention Day.
World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD) was established in 2003 in conjunction with the World Health Organization (WHO) and is a significant advocacy and communication-based event aimed at reaching national organizations, governments and the general public, giving a singular message that suicide can be prevented.
World Suicide Prevention Day is an opportunity to raise awareness of suicide and to promote action through proven means that will reduce the number of suicides and suicide attempts globally.
