Miami, March 18, 2022 – Miami Dade College (MDC) will illuminate its National Historic Landmark Freedom Tower red at sunset on Tuesday, March 29, in support of Red Cross Month.
Red Cross Month is an annual celebration of turning compassion into action, established in 1943 when President Franklin D. Roosevelt issued the first Red Cross Month proclamation. The month-long celebration honors individuals across the country helping others in times of crisis. This year, MDC’s Freedom Tower joins several landmarks that will be illuminated in support, include the Port of Miami, Perez Art Museum, and Frost Museum of Science, among others.
