Miami Dade College Adds New Learning Modality and Financial Assistance during Spring Miniterms

Miami, Jan. 14, 2021 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) leadership is pleased to announce the addition of MDC LIVE to the College’s array of learning modalities – MDC In-Person, MDC LIVE (Learning Interactively in a Virtual Environment), MDC Online and Blended classes. This was achieved with input from the faculty union, UFMDC. In addition, MDC is offering financial assistance to students who register for the next spring miniterm, Miniterm accelerated courses can be completed in eight, 12 or 14 weeks.

Class options:

MDC In-Person – Take classes on campus while following social distancing protocols, including wearing a face covering and staying six feet apart from others.

MDC LIVE – Take virtual classes from anywhere and interact in real time with professors and classmates on scheduled days and times, as you would in person.

MDC Online – Take classes online with the option to complete coursework on your own time and at your own pace, while still meeting weekly and term deadlines.

Blended courses – These classes combine online and traditional in-person instruction. Social distancing protocols will be followed when meeting in person.

Financial assistance:

New, returning, and existing students who register through Feb. 24 can receive up to 13 free credit hours and $25 per credit hour toward fees.  Financial assistance is subject to availability.

To provide maximum support, MDC admissions, advisement, registration, financial aid, testing and other essential student services will offer extended hours on Saturday, Jan. 23 and Jan. 30 at all campuses.

  • Monday, Feb. 8 (12 weeks)
  • Monday, Mar. 8 (8 weeks)
