Miami Dade College to Host Law Day Panel Discussion May 4

Miami, April 17, 2017- Florida state judges will discuss the role of the judiciary in the American democracy and the importance of preserving judicial independence during a panel discussion in celebration of Law Day at 6 p.m., Thursday, May 4, at Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami.

In celebration of Law Day and in response to proposed legislative changes in Florida, the Informed Voters Project, the League of Women Voters of Miami-Dade County, MDC, and WLRN will present a timely program for civic education. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions directly to a panel of state judges.

Panelists include Florida Eleventh Judicial Circuit Chief Judge Bertila Soto, Florida Eleventh Judicial Circuit Judge Lisa Walsh, and Florida Eleventh Judicial Circuit Judge Sarah Zabel. WLRN Vice President of News, Tom Hudson, will moderate the panel.
