Hop to Miami Dade College’s Kendall, North or Wolfson Campus to Kick Off the Year of the Rabbit

Miami, January 27, 2011Miami Dade College (MDC) will commemorate the Year of the Rabbit by hosting Chinese New Year Festivals at its Kendall, North and Wolfson campuses. Organized in part by MDC’s prestigious Confucius Institute, the festivals will feature acrobatics, live music, drumming, dance, film, and so much more!

The Wolfson Campus festival will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1. Some of the highlights include Peking Opera dance, a calligraphy demonstration, a fashion show, dumpling tasting, and screening of the Chinese film “The Road Home.” Location: 300 N.E. The North Campus festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  Wednesday, Feb. 2. The event will feature acrobats, musical performances, dance, a fashion show, a calligraphy demonstration, a tea ceremony, food tasting, and more. Location: 11380 N.W. 27 Ave. Free. The festival at Kendall Campus, set for 1 to 6 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 20,  is presented by the Miami Chinese Cultural Foundation and co-organized by MDC’s Confucius Institute. Highlights will include a Dragon Dance, the magic of “face-changing,” Chinese food vendors, and folk music.
